In a few seconds, the Model 15 captures highly detailed 3D models that you can analyse, modify, and physically reproduce using automated milling machines or rapid-prototyping systems. The Model 15 is ideal for supporting tasks such as product design; CAD/CAM; research; animation and special effects for film; medical applications such as reconstructive and cosmetic surgery, anthropometrics/ergonomics, and reverse engineering.

Like Cyberware's other 3D scanners, the Model 15 uses video technology to capture an object's shape in about 17 seconds, without physically touching the object. The resulting 3D Model is displayed instantly on a graphics workstation.

Self-Contained Scanning System
The Model 15 features a complete 3D Scanning package - scanning unit, motion subsystem, and software - in an integrated format. With the addition of a graphics workstation, the system includes everything you need to make fast, high-quality scans.

The motion subsystem built into the Model 15 provides both linear and cylindrical scanning. The motion platform rotates in front of the scanning unit, and the scanning unit scans across an object on the platform. These scanning patterns allow you to scan virtually any type of object to approximately 200mm (8") in size.

All the scanning motions and other settings are controlled completely by software included with the Model 15. This software has been designed to give even non-technical users a quick and easy way to capture the shape of an object. The software includes tools for modifying and measuring scanned objects, as well as translating file formats so that you can take advantage of the many commercially available software packages that accept 3D models.
